The Never-Ending Maze

The Never-Ending Maze by Mara Solus is an intimate psychological novel written in the form of a personal diary. Through a deeply introspective and poetic voice, the narrator recounts her struggle with loneliness, shattered dreams, social alienation, depression, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. The maze becomes a powerful metaphor for the human mind—a place that once offered refuge but gradually transforms into a prison with no clear beginning or end. As she navigates university life, painful memories, complicated relationships, faith, psychiatric treatment, art, and the longing to be truly understood, writing becomes both a confession and an act of resistance. Unflinching yet profoundly human, the novel explores the fragile boundary between despair and survival, asking whether light, meaning, and salvation can emerge from the deepest darkness.
