الوصف
Integrating Stroke Care in Algeria is a strategic and practical roadmap for transforming stroke management in Algeria. Despite stroke being the country’s second leading cause of death and the foremost cause of adult disability, patients continue to face fragmented care pathways, delayed treatment, poor coordination among specialists, and inadequate post-discharge support. Written from a clinician’s perspective, the book identifies the systemic causes of these shortcomings and proposes a comprehensive national solution built on three pillars: the establishment of Stroke Units in major hospitals, the creation of multidisciplinary Neuro-Vascular Care Teams coordinated around each patient, and the deployment of a nationwide telemedicine network linking specialized centers with regional hospitals. Combining evidence-based recommendations with practical tools, standardized protocols, and policy guidance, the book offers a clear blueprint for healthcare professionals, hospital administrators, and policymakers. At its core, it advocates a unified, patient-centered approach where specialties work together to reduce preventable deaths, limit disability, and improve quality of life. More than a medical text, this work is a call to action—demonstrating that with organization, coordination, and commitment, Algeria can build a modern, integrated stroke care system capable of saving lives and restoring dignity to thousands of patients and families each year.
